South Africa will return to the Hong Kong Sixes with a seven-member squad when the tournament runs from 30 October to 1 November at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.
The side is led by Jorich van Schalkwyk and includes Steve Stolk, Abdullah Bayoumy, Ayabulela Gqamane, Alindile Mhletywa, Blake Simpson and Heath Richards.
Returning Players Bring Experience
Three players return from the 2025 edition: van Schalkwyk, Simpson and Bayoumy. Their experience gives the squad a strong foundation for this year’s campaign.
Van Schalkwyk led South Africa’s run-scoring charts last year with 122 runs. Bayoumy was the team’s leading wicket-taker with four wickets. Simpson contributed with both bat and ball, adding further versatility to the returning group.
Group D Test Ahead
South Africa have been drawn in Group D alongside Afghanistan and Oman. The group-stage matches will provide an important first test as the team works to secure progression to the knockout stages.
South Africa A coach Wandile Gwavu will oversee the side. The competition leaves little room for error and rewards teams that capitalize on every opportunity.
